DS5 model got unveiled by Citroen

Citroen has added excellent spark in the car segment. Citroen is now all set to open its door for the 3 series as the premium hatchback and is featured with diesel electric hybrid. It is expected that the styling of the Citroen DS5 is taken up with some cues from the DS3 model. They have finally announced the official details for the DS5 model at the Shanghai Motor Show, first ever hybrid model by Citroen.

The German company pitched an excellent saloon that is present everywhere, the Citroen DS5 with five door hatchback and seized boot space. The car has similar features with the premium DS range from DS4, which was recently launched. If you found that DS5 looks similar, then it’s because of some root traces with the Sport Lounge Concept. This concept was unveiled in the year 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. DS5 slightly resembles to DS3, but you can observe the major difference in the finished strip of chrome that runs right from the top of headlamp and meet at the midpoint of A- Pillar.

Even the front wheel of the car has similar tone up with DS3, which has got trapezoidal grille lay with oversized lights, whereas at the back you will find ultra shallow screen that gives an impression of wide and low stance. In the compartment, it offers heavily sculpted covered with leather dash houses and wide array of toggle switches and style buttons. Even the centre console is been placed over the roof above the head of driver.

The main aim of talking about the cars is the introduction of the Hybrid diesel technology, which was initially debut on the Peugeots 3008 but was applied first time on the Citroen. A diesel option will offer PSA’s 2.2 L HDI unit; whereas the petrol fans under the hood offer 200 bhp engines. The official prices have yet to be released, but it is expected to carry the price tag of £23,000. The price quote can rise, if you opt for the Hybrid 4 costing to £30k more. The car has already made its debut in the European market at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and possibly the sales might began in the first half of 2012.
